- The Renewing of the Mind Project: Going to God for Help with Your Habits, Goals, and Emotions by Barb Raveling
As someone who has struggled with depression, I found this book to be full of practical advice on taking your thoughts captive and making them obedient to Christ. I have implemented some of the “truth journaling” exercises she writes about and it’s definitely helped when I’ve been tempted to believe the enemy’s lies.
- Simply Tuesday: Small-Moment Living in a Fast-Moving World by Emily P. Freeman
I loved everything about this book. It was so full of encouragement and I really needed the reminder that God uses us in the mundane of our day-to-day lives. I felt challenged to really slow down and stop trying to achieve bigger and better things when I can be effective where I am right now.
- A Mother’s Rule of Life: How to Bring Order to Your Home and Peace to Your Soul by Holly Pierlot
This book was written from the perspective of a Catholic mother, so not everything in the book was specifically applicable to me. I didn’t necessarily agree with every sentiment, but I was able to glean a TON of practical information for setting up my own “rule”. This book really gave me a new appreciation for my vocation as a wife and mother.
